This caramelised onion relish, best known as Seeni Sambol, is Sri Lanka’s favourite toast topper! Smoky, sweet and savoury - enjoyed traditionally with kiribath or hoppers. Excellent in wraps or with Coconut Roti! Also elevates vegan grilled cheese sandwiches, sliders or chickpea omelettes.
Ingredients: Onions, tamarind, curry leaves, pandan leaves, red chilli, salt, Ceylon spices, jaggery, brown sugar.
How to Enjoy: Use as chutney, relish, dip or marinade. Maybe even use it as a base for your beetroot stir-fry/gravy/curry!

Cute fun fact: Did you know that "rice and curry" is just a Sri Lankan's way of saying chap fan (rice with dishes)? The next time you hear your Sri Lankan buddy telling you that they had "rice and curry" for lunch, they're not just having rice and curry, they're having rice with dishes (and curry!) as you would at the chap fan or nasi kandar place.
