This vegan cashew cheddar cheese is flavourful and versatile! It is made from a base of cashews and has no oil, so it is a lower fat option compared to our other vegan cheeses. Great for those who want some low-calorie/low-fat dairy-free cheese!
It slices, grates, and melts great! It melts most easily when there is more moisture, such as in a grilled sandwich, quesadilla, inside of a casserole, etc.
If you want to use it as a topping for a casserole such as a lasagna, cover the top of the pan with foil so it melts more easily.
It will work on a pizza, but will not be quite as fully melted as our other cheeses. Make sure to put it under the toppings on the pizza for the best melt. You can also sprinkle water on top of the cheese on a pizza or casserole to help it melt more easily.
Also great on sandwiches, burgers, chopped in salads, on crackers, in casseroles, on tacos, fajitas, and wherever else you love a good flavourful cheddar!
