Back in the day, before smart phones and social media, Ben & Jerry's fans spoke to the brand via handwritten notes pinned to the bulletin boards at their Scoop Shops. Sometime in 1986, one such fan mailed a postcard to the main office in Burlington, Vermont, suggesting this now-iconic flavor.

Ice cream meets great guitar solos? They loved the idea, and Ben immediately got to work concocting it. Cherry Garcia debuted in 1987 and quickly became one of their top three most popular flavors. But just as every good musician has to evolve, Ben & Jerry’s does, too.

So in answer to queries from all of those air-guitar heroes who wanted a dairy-less option, Ben & Jerry's decided it was time to create a dairy-free, 100% vegan take on Cherry Garcia. It’s made with smooth and creamy almond milk, which is the perfect blank canvas for the cherries and fudge flakes packed into this pint.
