The rojak sauce has the consistency of melted caramel and a complex, sweet, salty and spicy flavor. Toss your favorite fruits and vegetables into a bowl and mix them with this sauce. Add on crushed peanuts for extra goodness.
Rojak is a local salad of mixed vegetables and fruits, drizzled with rojak sauce that is sweet, slightly sour and a tad bit of umami taste. Rojak in Malay means "mixed", and this represents the multi-culture in Malaysia.
A quintessential part of the Malaysian food experience, this unique salad can be eaten as an appetizer, snack, a teatime treat, or as a meal on its own.
Best served with cucumber, pineapple, unripe mango, jicama, and fried tofu.
